It’s not every day that a girl gets to meet one of her idols, but luckily for me The Balvenie made this possible! Last week I was invited to the dinner of a lifetime. Set in the iconic Colicchio & Sons a group of 25 whisk(e)y enthusiasts and influencers gathered around a table to celebrate David Stewart’s 50 year anniversary as The Balvenie’s Malt Master. Placed at the head of the table and directly next to me was an exquisite bottle of The Balvenie 50 Year Old, a creation David laid down in 1962 when he began his journey to becoming a legend in the whisk(e)y world. This whisky is some of the rarest in the world filling up a total of 88 bottles worldwide and selling for $30,000 each. One of those 88 bottles was uncorked and poured for us to enjoy. Not only did I get to taste this amazing liquid, I got to enjoy it in the presence of the master himself. There are few words that would be able to explain the feeling of sitting around the table, so instead I invite you to take a peek into the dinner below!

First pour of the evening was The Balvenie 12 YO DoubleWood – one of David Stewart’s finest creations

Guests enjoyed a delicious meal, wonderful conversation, and touching video commemorating David Stewart
This in fact is an evening I will be talking about for many years to come.
Cheers!
